The Buzz in Learning
by Kevin Eikenberry
"Buzzword Bingo" is a current craze across organizations in the U.S. This game involves people building bingo cards with current buzzwords and lingo. As people sit in a meeting, they are quietly completing their bingo cards as the words are said in the meeting. We can take that idea and turn it into a useful game in our learning sessions.
| Process |
- Develop a list of key words from your training session.
- Create a set of bingo cards. (The easiest way to do this is by purchasing ZINGO from Workshops by Thiagi - http://www.thiagi.com).
- Give each learner a card at the start of the game.
- Have people check off the words as they hear you say them.
- When a person has a bingo, have them shout it out - and you have a winner!
|
| Benefits |
This simple game has many benefits, including:
- Rewards people for listening.
- Focuses people on the right things.
- Gives you a way to lighten your session.
